Breakups! Gaga! ‘Glee’ is Back

Glee Super BowlGleeks everywhere can sing hallelujah, because on Sunday, Feb. 6, “Glee” comes back to finish up season two. With their Golden Globe win for Best Television Series, expectations are high; luckily “Glee” has never let ME down before!

The season premiere, right after the Super Bowl, will feature the Glee cast performing a mashup of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs “Heads Will Roll.” According to Entertainment Weekly, this will be the biggest and most expensive production in the show’s history! It seems fitting since they’re performing “Thriller,” one of the biggest songs of all time. Artie (Kevin McHale) will take the lead on this one: “I was battling,” Kevin said. “I was like, I have to sing it. I don’t have to sing for the rest of the season, I just have to sing ‘Thriller.’” Kevin wanted it so much he recorded it with a 102-degree fever!

According to PopEater.com, Lady Gaga granted the show permission to make great use of her new single “Born This Way,” coming out February 13.  The song will play into the drama between in-the-closet Karofsky (Max Adler) and Kurt (Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer).

“This show is by nature optimistic and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark,” creator Ryan Murphy told EW.  “But I also love Max and I love that character and I sort of want that character to have a happy ending. So I don’t really know what that’s going to be, but I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song.”

Kevin McHale singing "Thriller"As the series continues to become more and more popular, celebrities want a piece of the action. We haven’t seen the last of our favorite substitute teacher, Holly Holiday  (Gwyneth Paltrow). Not only will she be a breath of fresh air for New Directions, but a love interest for Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison).  Other “Glee” celeb cameos include Anne Hathaway who will play Kurt’s aunt,  Javier Bardem is rumored to be making an appearance as a rock star who befriends Artie and Kristen Chenoweth will be coming back as April Rhodes in the last few episodes of the season.

Just because the season will be starting so close to Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean “Glee” will be super sappy. In fact, there will be a break-up instead of a make-up. SPOILER ALERT: New Direction’s picture-perfect couple, Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) will break up this season. Plus Sam and Santana (Naya Rivera) will begin to date (sparks are flying between the two in real life) while Quinn seeks comfort in Finn (Cory Monteith). No word on Finn and Rachel (Lea Michele) resurrecting their relationship.

With A-list, Oscar-winning stars, a thrilling musical line up and the talented cast of “Glee,” Sunday, Feb. 6, is bound to be a touchdown. “Glee” will return to it’s Tuesday timeslot on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
